PF will flush out disloyal members
EASTERN Province is a bedroom for President Lungu and the Patriotic Front (PF), therefore indiscipline and disloyalty among party leaders in the province shall not be tolerated, Eastern Province PF chairperson Andrew Lubusha has warned.
Mr Lubusha cautioned party leaders in the province to remain loyal to the ruling party and conduct themselves in a manner that would bring patriotism in the party.
This follows the suspension of Petauke district chairperson Sandford Mwanza for alleged disloyalty and treacherous conduct.
The party has instead appointed vice provincial chairperson Godwin Phiri to act as district chairperson for Petauke.
Mr Phiri would continue acting until the case involving Mr. Mwanza is concluded.
Mr Lubusha told the Daily Nation in an interview that the action against Mr Mwanza had been taken after consultation with PF secretary-general Davies Mwila.
He has since asked the party leadership in the province to take the suspension of Mr Mwanza as a lesson.
“The PF in Eastern Province will not allow any indiscipline, disloyalty, mischievous and treacherous behaviour in the party. Therefore, we urge all party leaders to remain loyal to the party or face disciplinary action to the extent of expulsions.
“So the suspension of Mr Mwanza is a lesson for those who are double dealing, in fact investigations are ongoing and whoever will be found wanting will also follow Mr Mwanza. We are watching them and we shall take harsh measures against them,” Mr Lubusha said.
He urged party leaders to emulate President Edgar Lungu’s dedication to the party.
Meanwhile, Mr Lubusha has assured that the party in the province still remain intact.
He also indicated that the people in Eastern Province were grateful for the series of developmental project undertaken under the leadership of President Lungu.
Mr Lubusha further assured the President of absolute loyalty, handwork and unprecedented party growth in the province.
