DCE pledges to work with new PF leadership

- By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

THE Development Council of Elders in Mwinilunga district has resolved to back the newly elected North Western Patriotic Front (PF) executive.

District chairperson Henry Kakisa said his organisation, which is a branch of the North western Development Council of Elders, had resolved to work with the ruling party because its core mandate was to work with the government.

He said contrary to the lies that have been peddled in the past that the organisation works with the opposition, his organisation would always work with the government of the day in fostering development in the area.

‘’As an organisation, we will always endeavour to work with the ruling party in government. And that is why today we want to make it public that we the council of elders in Mwinilunga have resolved to work with the PF provincial executive in fostering development in our district contrary to what has been said in the past, Mr Kakisa said.

Mr Kakisa said this when PF provincial chairperson Jackson Kungo called on him and his 54 members in Mwinilunga over the weekend.

He said his organisation was ready to share ideas on how best development could be realised in the area.

He commended the new executive committee for extending an olive branch and showing willingness to work with his organisation in fostering development in the area.

He urged the executive committee to continue interacting and engaging all stakeholders in the province.

And Mr Kungo has pledged to work closely with the organisation and other stakeholders in the district.

He said there was need for collaboration between the ruling party and all the stakeholders if development is to be realised in the province.

‘’And that is why my executive has taken a deliberate move to bring on board all stakeholders because we don’t want to leave anyone behind in the development process of this province,” he said.

He said his office is open for ideas to improve the living standards of the people.
