Let’s support Govt in graft fight - NGO
GOVERNMENT and Vice President Inonge Wina should be supported for their stand and fight against misappropriation of funds in the Auditor General’s report, says Youth Aid chairperson Kachenga Chungu.
Mr Chungu said Ms Wina’s stance and fight against corruption was a sign that Government still had honest and diligent leaders who believed in justice and integrity.
He said the Vice President was a rare breed and expressed hope that other civil society organisations would give her the support to fight the rampant misappropriation and acts of corruption.
In an interview with the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr Chungu said Ms Wina just like President Edgar Lungu have made it clear that everyone found with a case to answer in the Auditor General's report must be made answerable before the law.
“The Vice President has made it clear that everyone found with a case to answer in the Auditor General's report must be made answerable before the law.
“Ms Wina is a rare breed and we hope she will be given sup- port to fight the rampant misappropriation and corruption,” Mr Chungu said.
He said the recent statement by Ms Wina was a sign of hope against corruption and the misappropriation of public funds.
Ms Wina recently said President Lungu called for the arrest of anyone found wanting in the Auditor General’s report.
