GYZ slams double standards
By SANDRA MACHIMA THOSE condemning President Edgar Lungu for cautioning judges, are the ones helping the cartel who have infiltrated almost all government institutions, Gallant Youth in Zambia executive director Henry Mulenga has charged.
Mr Mulenga said it was not arguable that the cartel had penetrated all the institutions and wanted to control all the fields to suit their agenda.
He charged that the judiciary needs self-cleansing so that it attracts more credible and loyal members that could dispense justice in an inequitable manner to the expectation of the nation.
He said President Lungu was merely reminding the Zambians about the operation of the judiciary because that the cartel was still influencing, adding that there were some officials who were working under the influence of the cartel.
President Edgar Lungu recently cautioned judges against professional misconduct and urged them to always carry out their duties for the benefit of Zambians.
Mr Mulenga alleged that the Judiciary was infiltrated by the cartel, where justice should prevail, to destroy whoever was not dancing to their tune.
He said Zambia was bigger than any groupings, noting the citizens were aware that some individuals wanted things done in their favour.
“We are not saying the Judiciary should not work independently, but the truth should be told because there is something wrong somewhere because of the work of the cartel that has been deep rooted in system to fix whoever is not going their way,” he said.
Mr Mulenga said President Lungu as the Head of State had a Constitutional right to hint to the Zambian people about the happenings and therefore
“President Lungu means well and we expect all wellmeaning Zambians to give him much needed support so that he can even do more.
And those aiding the cartel are the ones who can talk about the interference of the judiciary, when infact they know their motives behind,” he said.
