THE international boxing tournament organised by Exodus Boxing Promotions planned for the New Government Complex in Lusaka has been moved to November 19.

Initially the event was to take place on November 18 but it collided with the World Tourism Organization Conference (WTOC) meeting to be held at the same venue.

Promotions manager Anthony Mwamba said it was necessary to reschedule the event to give room to WTOC.

Mwamba said the WTOC was an important event that could not be disturbed at all.

“We support government activities and therefore we cannot disturb the important event of the WTO at Government Complex. The tournament has been moved from Saturday to Sunday at the same venue,” he explained.

He apologised to the sponsors and fans for the inconvenience the change may cause.

Meanwhile, Mwamba said the Promotions still has the budget deficit of K96, 000 of the K431, 000.

“We have not met the total budget of K431, 000.It is our hope that the business community will come fourth and help raise the K96, 000 deficit,” he said.

The Malawian boxers were expected to arrive in Lusaka last evening.

Enos “Butcher man” Temfuma will fight Malawian Lano Lembani in the World Boxing Federation cruisier weight elimination fight.

In non-title fights, Malawian cruiserweight Powder Limbani faces Sherif Kasongo , Simon Ngoma will square it off against Joseph Chewe of Mitanda Boxing Stable in light weight category, lightweight Bernard Mwango will host Philemon Hara of Evergreen Stable.

Others are Esaya Chilufya to face Mwansa Kabinga of Mitanda Stables in welterweight category while Raphael Kasoma faces Joshua Chifwembe also of Mitanda and Alli Kabeya will fight Brighton Ncheni of Malawi in middle weight.
