NORTH PF BANS PARALLEL STRUCTURES
By MUKOSELA KASALWE ALL existing parallel structures in Northern Province have been banned, says Patriotic Front provincial acting chairman Lazarous Chungu.
Mr Chungu demanded that all district and constituency committees provide detailed information on updated registers to Members of Parliament and other relevant authorities of the party. He directed the immediate dissolution of parallel structures existing in the ruling party in Northern Province.
This is according to a statement issued yesterday, by provincial secretary Kelvin Sichizya in which Mr Chungu urged all party structures to work towards the dismantling of structures that have been existing illegally and for the commencement of the process of updating party registers as a way of accounting for all established party structures.
Mr Chungu, who was addressing a joint provincial, district and constituencies meeting in Kasama said all activities which were causing divisions in the province have been banned.
“From today forthwith, all activities causing divisions in the party in the province have been banned and all those seeking elective positions should wait for the right time in 2021” he said.
Mr Chungu, who is Lupososhi Member of Parliament in Luwingu has directed constituency officials in Lukashya to work with Independent MP Mwenya Munkonge and those who supported him following their pardon by President Edgar Lungu.
He said time for conflicts, bickering, divisions and jostling for positions was long gone and that it was now time to concentrate on building the party in readiness for future elections.
Mr Chungu has advised members to desist from using the media to address issues in the party.
He said, there were laid down channels of communication that needed to be followed and warned that his office would not take kindly to those flouting party rules and regulations.
