MUKULA-LADEN TRUCKS SEIZED IN KASEMPA

NORTH Western police in Kasempa district have impounded six trucks carrying over 320 logs of Mukula trees, Kasempa Member of Parliament Brenda Tambatamba has disclosed.

According to the area Member of Parliament, the trucks were impounded on Wednesday last week pending verificati­on.

The trucks were intercepte­d by police between Kasempa turn off and Kasempa around 19:30 hours on November 15, 2017.

Mrs Tambatamba complained that unscrupulo­us dealers had finished all the Mukula trees in her constituen­cy.

The drivers arrested include Webster Ngwenya, 38, Fisonga Gudson, 32, Alex Chipako,36, Ali Jino Lembo,27, Geoffrey Mwewa,42, and Mostafa Eddy.

Mr Ngwenya has been identified as of house No. 26/16 Emmasdale Lusaka.

He was driving a Mercedes Benz truck registrati­on No. ABC 4263, ABG 7992 T, carrying 127 Mukula logs.

And Mr Gudson of house No. 23/21 in Lilanda Lusaka was driving a freightlin­er truck 9800, registrati­on No. AJC 9476 carrying unknown number of Mukula logs.

Mr Chipako of house 264582/1080, Kamwala south Lusaka on the other hand was driving a freight liner truck carrying unknown number of Mukula logs.

Mr Lembo of house No. 38/24, Six Miles Lusaka, who was driving a Mercedes Benz truck registrati­on No. AAZ 8539, ABG 3516T, had carried 103 Mukula logs.

Mr Geoffrey Mwewa of House No. F35 Kasama, driving a freightlin­er truck, registrati­on No. ALP 1931, AAZ 5460T carried 42 logs of rose wood.

And Mr Mostafa of Kapiri Mposhi was driving an Agos truck registrati­on No. AJD 6193, AJD 6167T carried 48 logs of rose wood.

Others were 6 lorry mates. The owner of Rose Wood logs has been identified as Mr Kenneth Kapinga of Kalulushi while the owner of the Mukula logs is only known as Henry from Lusaka.
