Tasila embarks on parallel project to rehabilitate drainages
NKOLMA ward one councilor Tasila Lungu has embarked on water and sanitation project which is linked and running in parallel with drainage rehabilitation in Lusaka.
The project which is under Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) was currently underway in high-density areas in the city and Chawama constituency is among the beneficiaries.
Ms Lungu through her face book post said the project aimed at keeping the environment clean and protect children especially from water-borne diseases, such typhoid.
Ms Lungu said the project was in addition to other interventions of providing clean and potable water to residents through the provision of several water kiosks serving thousands of families.
“Rehabilitating drainages is another facet of keeping our environment clean and protecting our children from the burden of water-borne disease and I am grateful to see our drainage works project currently underway along the Chawama Road.
“This is a massive project that will have a direct and positive impact on the health of our most vulnerable residents, young infants and children,” said Ms Lungu.
Ms Lungu further thanked the residents of Nkoloma ward for their patience, input and understanding during the project period because they were the beneficiaries. She expressed gratitude to the contractors as well as Government for prioritizing such a huge project and for their continued support towards such life-saving projects.
