Kalingalinga school in roofing sheets donation
CLASSECON Roofing Africa has donated 56 iron roofing sheets to Kalingalinga Primary School as part of its corporate social responsibility and has called on other business entities to identify needs in the community.
Speaking during the donation of the roofing sheets at Kalingalinga Primary School in Lusaka on Wednesday, company marketing manager Jimmy Mpakama said the gesture was part of their corporate social responsibility.
Mr Mpakama said it was important for business houses to identify needs in the community and lend a helping hand.
He said the roofs would help cover the three classroom blocks and ensure a conducive teaching and learning environment for teachers and pupils.
Mr Mpakama said education was an equalizer and an enabler to ensure citizens had equal opportunities and that it was important to supplement Government’s effort.
“This is part of our corporate social responsibility, we identified a need and have responded quickly. I urge other business houses to give back to the community,” he said.
Mr Mpakama challenged other corporate entities to give back to the community their goods and services.
And Kalingalinga Primary School head teacher Kaela Chisupa expressed gratitude and happiness for the donation.
Mr Chisupa said the gesture had come at an appropriate time and that it would help cover the three classroom blocks before the onset of the rainy season.
He said he was humbled that Kalingalinga Primary School was the recipient of the roofing sheets.
