UPND PRACTISES WITCHCRAFT?

…As HH reveals members went to DRC for witchcraft for his release

- By ROGERS KALERO

SOME members of the UPND are practicing witchcraft and reportedly crossed into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DCR) to seek services of witch doctors to facilitate the release of their leader from prison.

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema disclosed yesterday in Kitwe during a card renewal exercise in the showgrounds, that some of his party members were crossing into the neighbouring DRC to look for witchcraft so that he could be released from Mukobeko Maximum Prison where he was incarcerated on charges of treason.

And Mr Hichilema also claimed that during a BBC Hard Talk programme, he was told that he had won the 2016 elections, but his votes were stolen by the Patriotic Front (PF).

Meanwhile, the UPND leader has said former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe was the God Father of dictatorship in Africa who allegedly taught the ruling PF how to steal votes and deny people's rights to assemble, demonstrate and voice out their concerns.

Mr Hichilema said he was grateful for the support he had received from the party members when he was incarcerated for 120 days at Mukobeko Maximum Prison on charges of treason.

He said he was happy that while in incarceration some UPND members were supporting him very much with some women crossing into the DRC to look for witchcraft so that he could be released from Mukobeko Maximum Prison where he was incarcerated.

"Am here to thank you for the support you gave me when I was incarcerated on charges on treason. Some of our women went to DRC to look for witchcraft so that I could be released. This shows how much you cared about me and how you were affected by my incarceration," Mr Hichilema said.

He also said he was grateful for the support he received from the Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and the Catholic church’s Bishop, Telesphore Mpundu who labelled President Edgar Lungu a dictator.

He said the PF government would not like the issue of the election petition to be revived because they fear to lose power to the UPND.

"During the BBC Hard Talk programme, I was told that I won the election , but my votes were stolen by the PF. So because the PF knows that it stole the votes of UPND, it would not like the issue of petition to be revived.

"But be prepared for elections any time. I know what am talking about, I am an adult. Get down to the grass root to effectively mobilize the party so that any time the elections come, we will be ready to beat PF,'' He said.
