MTN/FAZ super division goes to the wire

-

Dear Editor

THAT The MTN/FAZ super division league will be decided on the final day with all the top 4 contenders playing at home is a clear indication that Zambian league is now competitive.

There are no underdogs or pushovers, even the teams that have already been relegated are playing to the best of their abilities.

This season was surprises as the so called big names were humiliated by small teams.

Lumwana Radiant and Lusaka Dynamos proved to be thorns in the league as they punished big boys without fear.

However, what is surprising is that the Chipolopolo is made of only a few teams maybe Zanaco and Zesco United, and yet we have seen some great skills displayed by almost all strikers be it in super division or division one.

This simply mean that selection of players to don the national colours is not merit but on the coaches preference, and this kind of mentality will always cost us games.

FAZ needs to come up with an independent technical bench which is not skewed to a particular team as is the case today where the coach seems to be aligned only to Zesco and Zanaco.

By the way who said the national team must have players only from the Super division?

Can the technical bench cast its net wide as we start the 2018 season?

Many I also take this chance to wish all the 4 top title contenders good luck as they all play at their respective home grounds.

And should they all win then Zegaa Mambo will be crowned champions and Mighty" wine Cungulo" will be trekking back to division 1 with their head low despite having one of the lethal strikers Osman from Ghana!
