Mkushi youths speak out

- By PETER MALASHA in Mkushi

YOUTHS in Mkushi are disappointed with the way authorities are taking the sex party scandal lightly.

Mkushi District youth coordinator Bright Mumba told the Daily Nation in an interview that youths in the area are aggrieved with the manner in which the sex party issue was being handled as though it was flimsy.

Mr. Mumba said he expected the matter to be probed thoroughly to its logical conclusion and with the seriousness it deserved.

Mr. Mumba who is also the District Ambassador for Real Men campaign against such acts condemned the district Education authority are the manner it handled the case.

“Pupils and children are government treasures. Anything against their will should not be taken lightly because they are the future leaders,” Mr. Mumba charged.

Mr. Mumba noted that teachers are role models in society. Hence, the need for them to exhibit exemplary behaviour worth emulating unlike the situation obtaining on the ground. Mr. Mumba added that the chain of events showed that it was not the first time such acts were happening in the district. He said everyone trying to shield the immoral act could be the culprits.

The youth leader hoped that the law would take its course on the matter and the suspected offenders given a chance to defend themselves.

Meanwhile, one of suspended teachers in the sex party scandal told the Daily Nation his only offense was to give a lift to the girls to the social event and that the person who had posted the story on social media wanted to tarnish their image.
