- By MUKOSELA KASALWE

MANDEVU Member of Parliament Jean Kapata has been praised for dedicating time to work from Ngwerere Ward office where she met residents and listened to their challenges.

Ngwerere Ward Councillor Adrian Banda said Ms Jean Kapata had shown dedication and commitment to concerns being faced by all the seven wards in the constituency.

He said the visit to the ward was part of Ms Kapata’s tour in all the seven wards of Mandevu including Ngwerere ward.

In an interview at the weekend, Mr Banda said he was happy with the leadership style and care by the MP who is Lands minister.

He said the community was happy to interact with Ms Kapata as she had shown that she was still with the grassroots and was a caring mother.

“We have been honoured as Ngwerere Ward 19 under Mandevu Constituency by the presence of our area MP (Iron Lady) Hon Jean Kapata who decided to work from my ward office and had time to meet some of our residents who shared with us the many challenges being faced in the community,” he said.

The civic leader said Ms Kapata interacted with the masses who wanted to see her and she took the opportunity to share her 2018 resolutions for the constituency of continued development from 2017.

Mr Banda has implored other lawmakers to take a leaf from Ms Kapata by dedicating part of their time to work from the ward offices.

He said 2017 was a good year with its own challenges and that he would build on the success of the numerous development projects in the ward to 2018.
