ZANASU challenges Prof. Luo to act on the CBU inhuman treatment

-

Dear Editor, POLICE should start acting in a manner that will show that they are trained professionals.

It is so devastating to see the police brutally beating students as if they are animals, students are just human just like their sons and daughters, ZANASU is not pleased at all with how the Ministry of Higher education is being run.

They always want to provoke the students by not giving them their bursaries and if they react then police man handle them in the name of maintaining order.

The Minister should at least take a step and show us her position because what just happened at CBU is a clear indication of the police force's incapacity. We are no longer living in colonial days neither are we experiencing xenophobia, it's really painful to see over 8 police officer beating up a student who is already incapacitated.

Government should intervene in this matter and help protect the interests of the Zambian people and students at large as that which happened in Kitwe will distort the nation's good image to the outside world, we all have seen the video on YouTube so they can't tell us that they cannot recognise any police officer who did that.

Treat students with dignity, eventually these will be leaders tomorrow so what becomes of them if only violent is what they are taught...??
