WE have never been used as tools to perpetrate violence and our silence on reports being propagated against us should not be interpreted to mean we are guilty, PF Green Delta security Chief Albert Mwila has said.

Mr. Mwila has also refuted allegations that his group was used to spearhead violence during the 2016 general elections as reported in some sections of the media.

Speaking to Daily Nation in a walk-in interview, Mr. Mwila said no member of the security wing countrywide had ditched the ruling party to join a named opposition party.

Mr. Mwila charged that it was unfortunate that a named opposition political party having failed to sell its agenda, had opted to propagate falsehood implicating the security wing.

“They are claiming that we have shifted camp on grounds that we have been frustrated because we have not benefited anything since the time the ruling party took over power. Truth is whoever is trying to push us to do that, they are hitting a brick wall because we are a disciplined group and proud to be members of PF.

“We have supported the party and pledged loyalty from the time that that the party went for its convention where the current party President Mr. Lungu was given manadate. From that period we have respected the view of the leaders and views of the party.

“We understand that the President has many priorities and he is not only a party President But the nation as well. We are patient and expectant that something is being worked out to empower the youths in the party security structures,” he said.

Mr. Mwila said the security wing had confident in the leadership of President Lungu and believed that he was delivering to the expectations of the electorates that placed the ruling party in power.

He advised those in the opposition to desist from driving an agenda to bring about divisions and mudslinging as this would not better their chances in the next election.

He said Zambians were expecting the opposition to provide checks and balances and solutions to the that could be remedy challenges especially youth unemployment.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mwila security wing had achieved milestone especially when the country experienced mealie-meal shortages by combining efforts with the police service to ensure that the commodity was not smuggled.

He claimed that the security team had also combined efforts with officers at the Ministry of Lands in curbing smuggling of the Mukula tree logs out of the country.
