Bemba party slammed
EMBATTLED politicians have assembled a team of disgruntled people with questionable backgrounds to push for a tribal agenda against an agenda which should promote national unity, the National Restoration Party has charged.
National Democratic Congress is a party bent on tribal margins so as to promote their ethnic agenda instead of the Zambian agenda, National Restoration Party information and publicity secretary Bwalya Nondo has said.
Mr Nondo said it was unfortunate that some people have grouped to expose their tribal nature by implying they were driving the Bemba agenda when in the actual fact they were merely exposing themselves as being tribe-centered.
He said NDC consultant and Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili together with party secretary general, Mwenya Musenge have assembled a team of disgruntled people with questionable backgrounds to push for a tribal agenda against a national agenda which should promote national unity. And Mr Nondo says the party has reported former Chingola district party secretary Bernard Mwila for failing to account for money paid to him for mobilization.
The NAREP information chief said Mwila ran away from NAREP when he allegedly failed to account for party funds paid to him for mobilization in Solwezi.
He said the party had exhausted all its internal disciplinary procedures to demand for accountability over the funds received, but that there was no closure to the matter due to Mwila’s continued absence from the hearings, hence the decision to report the matter to police.
“We would like to inform the nation that NAREP has reported its former IPS for Copperbelt to the police for his failure to account for the party funds he received for party mobilisation.
Mr Nondo explained that as the next possible government, NAREP demanded for integrity and honesty from its members at party level so as to prepare them for bigger responsibilities.
“If we fall account for the small monies given at party level, what more when we assume national officers?
“These are the people claiming to say they are as clean as KK’s handkerchief, we want them to tell the nation why they are running away from other political parties,” he said.
