Leave Amos Chanda alone, Kambwili told

-

By BENNIE MUNDANDO LEAVE Amos Chanda alone and save him from your slandering, mudslinging, and corruption accusations because it is not a sin to build five houses just because someone is afraid he would be branded a thief, Wright Musoma has told Roan MP Chishimba Kambwili.

Mr. Musoma expressed sadness that Mr. Kambwili had waged a war aimed at branding everyone in Government, including President Edgar Lungu, as corrupt when he was mute about any purported wrongs such individuals were involved in while he was in Government.

He said his party had carried independent investigations over the five houses Mr. Kambwili was alleging that Mr. Chanda had built and found that some of the houses he was talking about never belonged to Mr. Chanda.

He said Mr. Kambwili’s attacks on his perceived political opponents was testimony that he had come face-to-face with the reality of what politics was about in Zambia as he had realised that the popularity he commanded while in the PF was dwindling every day, thereby throwing him into a panic mode as he tried to resuscitate his fortunes.

Mr. Musoma said he found it illogical for Mr. Kambwili to continue attacking Mr. Chanda over his investments in Zambia and wondered where Mr. Kambwili expected Mr. Chanda to invest if not his motherland.

“Since he left Government, Mr. Kambwili has been antagonising everyone he worked with. We find this behaviour not befitting someone planning to lead this country because demonising your perceived enemies can never win you any presidential election.

“Mr. Kambwili was in Government not long ago but remained mute to all the issues that he is bringing out now and we believe if he was not fired, he would not have been saying what he is accusing other people today. “Even if it was true that Mr. Chanda is building five houses, what is wrong with that? Where does he expect him to build his house if not in Zambia? If civil servants can build up to 10 houses, why shouldn’t the presidential aide build five? Should Mr. Chanda feel scared to invest in Zambia because there is someone who makes unwarranted attacks on the presidency and Government? Let Mr. Kambwili sober up and play clean politics and not these perpetual lies he is peddling,” Mr. Musoma said.

He said the opposition political parties had been disappointed with Mr. Kambwili because they never expected him to be petty. “When he joined the opposition, we thought we had another bullet in the opposition that will provide credible checks and balances but we are disappointed that he is the exact opposite of what we expected.”
