Mystikal Pleads Not Guilty In Sexual Assault Case
SHREVEPORT, LA – Mystikal was in a Shreveport, Louisiana courtroom on Monday (December 18) where the 46-year-old artist pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from an alleged 2016 sexual assault, according to KSLA News 12.
The New Orleans-based rapper, who has been locked up at the Caddo Correctional Center since August 21, faces one count of first-degree rape and one count of second-degree kidnapping. Two other suspects are being held at Caddo in connection to the 2016 alleged incident — Averweone Darnell Holman, 26, who is being charged with one count each of first-degree rape and seconddegree kidnapping, and Tenichia Monieck Wafford, 42, who faces one count of obstruction of justice.
The Caddo district attorney’s office says Mystikal’s next hearing is January 18, which could possibly include a motion to reduce his $3 million bond.
Mystikal surrendered to police on August 21 and was officially indicted by a grand jury on September 19.
Mystikal turned himself in to Louisiana authorities on Monday (August 21) and was booked on charges of first-degree rape at the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Department. Meanwhile, his alleged accomplice, Tenichia Wafford, has reportedly turned herself in as well. She’s being accused of strong-arming the alleged victim into dropping the charges and is being held on a $200,000 bond.
