HH recognition of President Lungu inconsequential - NAREP

- By MUKOSELA KASALWE

As long as super powers such as the United States of America through President Donald Trump recognise that Mr Lungu is the Zambian Republican President then its fine, “The truth of the matter is that the people voted for him and the world recognises him and there is no vacuum of the Presidency until 2021.”

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu does not need the recognition of the UPND as he is internationally recognised as Zambia’s duly and legitimately elected Republican President.

National Restoration Party (NAREP) Central Province acting chairperson Belington Mulenga said Zambians should not be bothered that the UPND had refused to recognise President Lungu’s election.

He noted that the majority voted for President Lungu and that the world’s super powers such as the United States of America through President Donald Trump recognised him as Republican President.

In an interview yesterday, Mr Mulenga said it was pleasing that there was no vacuum in the office of the presidency until 2021. “It is a sheer waste of time to force the UPND to recognise President Edgar Lungu as the Republican President,

“As long as super powers such as the United States of America through President Donald Trump recognise that Mr Lungu is the Zambian Republican President then it’s fine,

“The truth of the matter is that the people voted for him and the world recognises him and there is no vacuum in the Presidency until 2021,” Mr Mulenga said.

He said NAREP would continue to engage government on issue-based politics such as youth unemployment, agriculture policies, judicial reforms and the Public Order Act.
