HH is a dictator -YALI

- By SIMON MUNTEMBA

IT is dictatorship for UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to force himself on the electorate against their will and wishes after being rejected for more than five times via the ballot box, Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) president Andrew Ntewewe has said.

And Mr Ntewewe said there was no presidential election petition in any court in Zambia.

Mr Ntewewe said this in Lusaka yesterday when he was featured on Hot FM’s morning programme.

He said there was no intra-party democracy in UPND adding that Mr Hichilema had dictatorial tendencies of wanting to impose himself on the Zambian people.

Mr Ntewewe challenged the UPND to hold a convention to elect new leaders ahead of 2021 general election saying the current leadership has overstayed.

He said it was particularly wrong for Mr Hichilema to continue being at the helm after losing presidential elections five times.

“Losing elections five times and saying he will contest as long as he wants is dictatorship,” he said.

And the YALI president said the much talked presidential petition was thrown out of the window the moment the Constitutional Court dismissed it for having exhausted the 14 day window period within which it must have been heard.

He said it was not only misleading but also wrong for the UPND to claim that the petition was still active in court.
