Arrest anti-Lungu malcontents - Canisius

- By AARON CHIYANZO

ZAMBIA has a sitting Head of State and anyone holding a view at variance with this fact is liable for criminal prosecution, former UPND vice president for politics, Canisius Banda has warned.

And Dr Banda said that this year, people should do a thorough audit of activities in 2017 and use this examination as a premise for better conduct going forward.

Dr Banda implored Zambians to remain cognisant that the country already had a sitting President.

He warned that anyone who held a view at variance with the fact that "As Zambians, we must remain cognisant that we have a sitting Head of State. This is constitutional and anyone who holds a view at variance with this is liable for criminal prosecution," said Dr Banda.

Dr Banda also urged the nation to reflect on people who avoided paying or denied the country of the much needed tax, adding that these were enemies of the state.

He emphasised the need to fully understand their nefarious nature and carefully cage their conduct to deliberately keep them away from holding public office.

Dr Banda also advised that all efforts aimed at attaining the requisite fiscal discipline should be supported by all the people.

He told the Daily Nation that Government efforts in attaining self-reliance on budget financing should also be supported.

Dr Banda reiterated that if the country failed to finance its own budget then independence would become an illusion.

Meanwhile, Dr Banda urged Zambians to be pragmatic with faith to be forgiving, diligent, faithful and loving in 2018.

He stressed that people should do a thorough audit of activities in 2017 and use this examination as a premise for better conduct this year.
