ZAF aids Cheshire Homes

-

By LINDA SOKO TEMBO ZAMBIA Air Force (ZAF) has donated 30 New Year hampers and assorted foodstuffs to Cheshire Homes in Chawama.

Speaking during the donation, Brigadier General Kapotwe Chintu, who represented ZAF Commander Eric Chimese, said the defence force had been associated with Cheshire Homes through its Air Power Ladies Club.

Brig Gen Chintu said the ZAF command felt it could put a smile on vulnerable people’s faces by donating something during the festive period.

He said ZAF had future plans to grow its partnership with Cheshire Homes because of its noble work.

“ZAF has been associated with Cheshire Homes mostly through our Air Power Ladies Club but this time around the air force command felt that we can put a smile on the vulnerable people by donating something during this festive period,” he said.

Meanwhile, Cheshire Homes chairperson Joseph Ngoma said his organisation was grateful that ZAF had thought of donating to the home during the festive period.

Mr. Ngoma said the hampers would go a long way in feeding the old people kept at the home and those living in the community.

“The foodstuffs will go a long way in feeding the old people that are residents here and those in the community. The hampers have been brought at the right time and we feel quite excited about it,” he said.

He appealed to other organisations and stakeholders to emulate ZAF.
