DC upbeat on Chisamba service delivery

By KETRA KALUNGA I give the Patriotic Front (PF) government 98.5 percent for service delivery for 2017 in Chisamba and we expect to hit 100 percent this year, says district commission­er, Martin Chowa.

Mr Chowa said the district has seen a number of projects being initiated by government in 2017 which include the multi-million dollar Mumboshi dam project, constructi­on of news roads and upgrading of old ones in the area.

The district commission­er said the constructi­on of the new vital roads has given farmers in the district easy access to the market.

“I give the PF 98.5 percent of service delivery for 2017. We have had quite a number of projects that have been initiated in Chisamba and are progressin­g well. Talk of the multi-million dollar Mumboshi project, constructi­on of new critic roads and upgrading of old ones,” said the district commission­er.

Mr Chowa added that Chisamba district has not been left out of the Social Cash Transfer programme which has captured over 5,700 of which 411 are physically challenged people.

“We are a happy district because we have not been left out in terms of developmen­t in line with the Seventh National Developmen­t Plan (7NDP), this is what has been experience­d by Chisamba district,” said the district commission­er.

Mr Chowa said the district had received a brand new vehicle for the social cash transfer programme to easy the movements of officers from the Ministry of Community Developmen­t tasked to handle the programme.

The district commission­er is optimistic that the PF government would by the end of this year, give Chisamba 100 percent service delivery.
