DC upbeat on Chisamba service delivery
By KETRA KALUNGA I give the Patriotic Front (PF) government 98.5 percent for service delivery for 2017 in Chisamba and we expect to hit 100 percent this year, says district commissioner, Martin Chowa.
Mr Chowa said the district has seen a number of projects being initiated by government in 2017 which include the multi-million dollar Mumboshi dam project, construction of news roads and upgrading of old ones in the area.
The district commissioner said the construction of the new vital roads has given farmers in the district easy access to the market.
“I give the PF 98.5 percent of service delivery for 2017. We have had quite a number of projects that have been initiated in Chisamba and are progressing well. Talk of the multi-million dollar Mumboshi project, construction of new critic roads and upgrading of old ones,” said the district commissioner.
Mr Chowa added that Chisamba district has not been left out of the Social Cash Transfer programme which has captured over 5,700 of which 411 are physically challenged people.
“We are a happy district because we have not been left out in terms of development in line with the Seventh National Development Plan (7NDP), this is what has been experienced by Chisamba district,” said the district commissioner.
Mr Chowa said the district had received a brand new vehicle for the social cash transfer programme to easy the movements of officers from the Ministry of Community Development tasked to handle the programme.
The district commissioner is optimistic that the PF government would by the end of this year, give Chisamba 100 percent service delivery.
