‘Free HH’ graffiti man acquitted

- By JUSTINA MULENGA

THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has acquitted Mwanakatwe Sikasula, for allegedly writing the “free HH” graffiti in the Government Complex, saying the prosecution has failed to prove its case against him.

The matter came up yesterday for ruling before Magistrate Thandose Chabala.

When the matter came up, the court said it was unfortunate that the accused was arrested without thorough investigations as such there was dereliction of duty by the arresting officer.

An arresting officer Amos Kashitu had testified that no handwriting samples were taken from the accused to prove if the handwriting was the same as the graffiti.

Mr Kashiti said there was a possibility that the words could have been written by someone else or the accused as the Government Complex is a public place.

All the five prosecution witnesses said they never saw Sikasula writing the actual words in the ablution block on the fifth floor.
