- By MOSES SINJWALA LUSAKA

residents are reportedly living in fear following the spate of suspected ritual murders that have rocked the city in the recent past.

The police in Lusaka confirmed that three bodies had so far been picked up and all found with missing parts.

Lilanda residents, yesterday woke up to the shock of their lives, when a body of an unidentified man was picked up near Zambia Paradise with genital organs, intestines and the tongue, among other parts, missing.

The residents are worried with the increase in number of suspected ritual killings across the city.

They complained that unknown people were hunting them down like wild animals.

Samuel Phiri, a resident of George compound told Daily Nation that people were now living in fear.

“We have no security in our compound and this has allowed these killers to invade us, we need a police post and the police should increase on the patrols,” he said

And a Lilanda resident, Simon Nsaka said that there was need for intensified police presences.

“Police need to come to our aid. We are going to be finished here, we cannot even move freely anymore,” he said

Meanwhile, Zambia Police Service spokesperson, Esther Katongo assured that police patrols had been intensified across the city.

Even though the spokesperson could not confirm the murder case reported in Lilanda yesterday, she pointed out that so far the incidences had taken place within the same area, around Matero and George compounds.

Ms Katongo urged the general public to be security conscious and report any suspicious looking persons to the police.

She reiterated that in as much as the police had intensified patrols across the city, the public should be wary of their movements.

Ms Katongo advised people to be on the lookout for suspicious looking persons they were not familiar with in their areas.
