KAY-TIZO'S ' PANONO' GETS HUGE RESPONSE

- By TERENCE MISELO

SINGING pair of blood brothers Francis Chota Chewe aka Chotizo and Anthony Kafula Chewe aka Papa Tony combinedly called Kay-Tizo have received overwhelming response following the release of their new single ‘Panono’ on Wednesday. This is attributed to the high number of downloads that has hit over 4000 within last two days. The song has also attracted the attention of Zambian music DJs some of whom have rated it as an instant hit. QFM’s DJ Showstar music blog has seen the song receive more downloads within a short time which makes him believe it has first time effect that would force someone to listen to it over and over again.

‘Panono’ produced by budding beat master Jazzy Boy of Shugah Sounds under Shenky, is Kay-Tizo’s first single for 2018 although the dual admits it has recorded quiet a good number of songs yet to be released to the public. Just like any other production under Shugah Sounds, the song has the trademark dance beat that blends very well with the rich lyrical content and vocal coordination. It is arranged in Afro-pop style with a mini rap verse that Chotizo delivers very well. Papa Tony is also excellent on vocals to make the song complete.

The song is basically an encouragement to everyone to learn to exercise patience and have selfbelief and content in what they do. The song is easy to sing along to while focussing on the message. Its chorus has a catchy Swahili phrase ‘ Subili Kidogo’ that simply means take your time. KayTizo believes this is a song to help the duet prepare for the build up to the debut album.
