HH SHOCKS MINISTER
HAKAINDE Hichilema is threatened by the Patriotic Front government’s mass development agenda because it is putting the ruling party on the map to the detriment of the opposition, chief government spokesperson, Kampamba Mulenga has charged.
Ms Mulenga said the opposition leader, has turned into an enemy of progress because he is threatened by the PF’s fulfillment of campaign promises.
She explained that the PF development agenda was making the ruling party popular to the disadvantage of the opposition.
Ms Mulenga was reacting to Mr Hichilema’s sentiments that Government’s move to relaunch Zambia Airways was a ploy to use the airline to bring in drugs, money laundering activities and corruption.
The minister said that Zambia Airways will be co-owned with Ethiopian Airlines and wondered how a reputable airline would associate itself with the Zambian government, if it wanted to use the airline for illicit activities.
Ms Mulenga, who is Information and Broadcasting minister, reiterated that Mr Hichilema has always been troubled with the progressive initiatives the ruling party has been coming up with.
“The airline will not be solely owned by the Zambian government, we are partnering with Ethiopian Airlines. How can the Ethiopian Airlines want to jeopardise their long standing reputation? “Our conclusion as government is that our colleagues in the opposition are just afraid of the achievements that the PF government has scored and this is what is frightening them,” she said.
