PF Govt still pro-poor - Mwakalombe
THE Patriotic Front Government is still a pro-poor government and those suggesting otherwise are simply politicking, Lusaka Province Minister, Japhen Mwakalombe has charged.
And Mr Mwakalombe revealed that President Edgar Lungu's administration has made huge investment in the heath sector because economic development can only flourish in a healthy nation.
Mr Mwakalombe, who is also Chongwe Member of Parliament, said this yesterday when he handed over two boreholes and cases of chlorine to various communities in his constituency.
The boreholes had been sank with assistance from Muslim Social Welfare Trust at a cost of K 30, 000 while the chlorine was donated by Gabriel Couto Company as part of its corporate social responsibility.
Mr Mwakalombe said government was committed to uplifting the living standards of the people by initiating policies tailored to address critical challenges facing the country.
“The opposition should not cheat you that we have developed a blind eye to the challenges you are facing. We know the problems you are going through and we are addressing them accordingly.” He explained that in Chongwe, for instance, government was aware that the people had challenges of road network and water and sanitation.
“Government under the able leadership of President Edgar Lungu has embarked on the construction of roads such as the Ngwerere road. We are also engaging the Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company and other cooperating partners to bring piped water to this area,” said Mr Mwakalombe as residents cheered.
