CB chief canes indisciplined MPs

-

By MUYANI SHINJABALE THE Copperbelt Provincial Vice Chairman, Amon chisenga has bemoaned the lack of discipline in the Patriotic Front (PF) Party by some Members of Parliament (MP) in Ndola District.

Mr. Chisenga said the lack of discipline by some MPs was leading to disunity among party members and threatened the destruction of the party.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Nation at Lawenthal Theater in Ndola, he noted that there was a lot of disunity in the PF party on the Copperbelt which needed to be quickly addressed, especially in Ndola.

“I would like to call upon the Secretary General of the Party to orient members of Parliament on how to work in unity with other party officials.

“If MPs are to be put to stand, they are number 25 in the constituency, meaning they are not bosses of the PF party and are therefore subject to discipline,” Mr Chisenga said.

He said issues of indiscipline in the party were getting out of hand because a number of people who did not belong to any structure of the PF party would stand up and start insulting leadership.

Mr Chisenga said the insults by those who did not belong to any structure of the party needed to stop because they were not only insults to the party but also to the people who suffered for the party.

“Ministers and MPs must keep in mind that they are subject to the party and are not above the Provincial Executive Committee, the District Executive Committee nor the Constituency Executive Committee.

He stated that the appointment by the President was a privilege and not a tool to be used to cause chaos and intimidate others.

Mr Chisenga was speaking at Lawenthal Theater after Ndola Magistrate Court had passed judgement on Atress Phiri a Kabushi PF official who was taken to court by a fellow Kabushi Patriotic Front member Gertrude Mulenga for assault which led to a swollen shoulder.
