NO PROJECT DRAGGING- PS
By MUYANI SHINJABALE COPPERBELT permanent secretary Bright Nundwe has called for sanity in all government projects in the province.
Mr. Nundwe said at a press briefing in Ndola that he would conduct a full inventory of every project to ensure there were no delays in the works.
He said he did not want to see any stalled project and that it was his duty to push funding if there was any financial challenge.
“We are working on a number of projects and I want all district commissioners in the province to take keen interest by monitoring and supervising all the projects in their respective districts. I want them to give me full information as to when the building started and the time frame
“I also need information on the value of each project and the outstanding balance. The information should also have details of challenges that are there and suggestions from the district commissioners, to ensure completion of the projects,” Mr. Nundwe said.
He warned all contractors already paid by government but were not on site that they risked facing the law.
Mr. Nundwe further said he wanted details of the proposed construction of the new Ndola international airport to chart the way forward as it had potential to attract a lot of investors.
He said the airport must be built with excellence as it would be the central point for most of Zambia’s neighbouring countries.
