NDC TALK NONSENSE- NORTH PF OFFICIAL

- By BENNIE MUNADNDO

THOSE linking me to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are divisive elements who want to make themselves relevant by speaking ill of other people, says PF Northern province deputy elections chairperson Chibwaya Muma. Mr. Muma said yesterday that the people aligning him to the NCD were just lining themselves up for positions but he would remain a staunch PF official. He has come under attack for allegedly supporting Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili and his Bahati counterpart Harry Kalaba. Reflecting on events in the PF in the last two months, Mr. Muma told the Daily Nation that he was shocked by the increasing intolerance and insincerity exhibited by some individuals who were seeking relevance in the ruling party. He said he found it strange that he could be accused of working with the rebels when he was the first person who alerted the PF provincial leadership that Mr. Kambwili was creating parallel structures in the party, long before he was fired from his ministerial position. “I told the party before Mr. Kambwili was fired that he was weakening the party on the Copperbelt. I issued statements that Mr. Kambwili was putting up parallel structures in Northern province long before the NDC was formed. I appealed to the party secretary general to come here so that he gets the reality on the ground. Where were those who are accusing me today? “I want to make it clear that if some of them joined politics because they want positions that is not my preoccupation. My blood is PF and no one will push me out. It will take a caterpillar to push me out of PF. This witch-hunt will destroy the party. If people are looking for positions, they don’t need to fight one another. All they need is to show leadership and the party will recognise their efforts,” Mr. Muma said. He further said he had personally challenged Mr. Kalaba to state where his allegiance was when it became apparent that he was scheming something within the party. “My loyalty is to the party and the President. Those whose loyalty is somewhere else have since resigned after NDC was formed but I have remained on the boat because that is where my allegiance is. I will not waste time on trivial issues because I believe there is still more that we need to do so that we go into the 2021 elections stronger than we are. “Those who want to waste their energies on fighting one another are the real enemies of the party and not the victims. They can get my position if they want but I will still canvass for votes for the PF as a mere party member because that is where my heart is,” he said.
