Fake photo riles Njoya-T

- By LINDA SOKO TEMBO

ZAMBIA Association of Musicians (ZAM) president Njoya Tembo, says he is deeply saddened by a fake picture which has gone viral on social media purporting to be that of his niece reportedly abused by his wife, Brenda who has been slapped with a 5-year jail sentence.

Mr Tembo aka Njoya-T, said the picture circulating on social media was not the image of his niece claiming that the juvenile was never burnt or assaulted by his jailed wife.

He said the girl’s body, from head to toe, was as smooth as the way she was born.

He said this whole thing was orchestrated and details were likely to come up in the appeal hearing hopefully this week.

And a Facebook posting alleged to have been penned by Brenda’s alleged victim, Natasha Mukalula reads: “My Name Is Natasha Mukalula I What to Tell U That My Aunt did nothing 2 me she is a good person. A person who loves everyone please help her.”

Mr Tembo laments, “The picture circulating on social media is not true am told that picture has been picked from Nigeria or Sierra Leone because the child was never burnt and never assaulted because this whole thing is a well-orchestrated story, her skin is as smooth as the way she was born,” Mr Tembo said.

In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Tembo explained that the truth of the matter was that there was no picture taken from the girl and presented in court adding that he would not say much because his jailed wife had appealed the conviction and sentence.

He said it was sad to see how some sections of society were abusing the social media and that it was something that people needed to refrain from doing but use the internet in a positive it.

“It’s sad to see how some people in this country are abusing the social media, apparently no picture was taken of the girl and presented in court. We are living in a modern world were pictures are right at the finger tips even when someone is drowning, you find people are quick to get pictures,” Mr Tembo said.

Njoya Tembo’s wife was last week sentenced to five years simple imprisonment for assaulting her niece with a cooking stick.
