MUFUMBWE RESIDENTS REGRET VOTING FOR UPND

- By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

MUFUMBWE residents are now regretting having voted for the opposition UPND because they have nowhere to complain over the continuous absence of the Member of Parliament.

North Western Province Patriotic Front (PF) vice youth chairperson Herold Zholomi said the people of Mufumbwe had regretted voting for the opposition UPND Member of Parliament Eliot Kamondo.

In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Zholomi said the people in Mufumbwe were not well represented as their Mr Kamondo rarely visits the constituency.

He said it was sad to note that the people in that constituency had instead resorted to mobilise resources on their own for the reconstruction of the gutted Mufumbwe police station without help from their parliamentarian, a situation he described as unfortunate.

“It is in black and white that the people in Mufumbwe constituency are now regretting voting for the opposition because from the time they voted for their MP, he has never come to back to the people and find out their challenges,” Mr Zholomi said.

He appealed to the people of Mufumbwe never to entrust the opposition with power as they had nothing to offer and that they had no heart for the people.

He said it was only the PF under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu that could bring development to the area and the rest of Zambia.

“For the very first time in the history of our district, the district no longer experience power outages, why? Because it is now connected to the national electricity grid. Health facilities are being constructed in the district.

“Solar hammer mills have been installed in all the wards, and all this is happening under the r Zholomi said.

Meanwhile, Mr Zholomi says the ruling party in the district has mobilised itself at a fast rate such that UPND’s popularity was slowly dwindling.
