ZB supports talent promotion efforts
THERE is need to promote Zambia’s rich culture in sports and musical talent, says Zambian Breweries head of marketing Sibajene Munkombwe
In a statement issued to Daily Nation Sports in Lusaka, Munkombwe said Zambian Breweries was committed to developing local communities through sports.
Sibajene said that the brewery firm valued sport because it helped achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17, which sought to revitalise the global partnership for sustainable development.
“As Zambian Breweries, we embrace our rich culture and we want to market it to the world through the Mosi Day of Thunder, “Zambian Breweries values sports. This is why we are actively preparing for our forthcoming Castle 5-aside tournament,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zambian Breweries Corporate Affairs Director, Ezekiel Sekele, explained that the company would continue to appreciate the media as important allies because members of the public needed to know about developments concerning their favourite beverages produced by the company.
Sekele explained that the partnership with the media helped in explaining the company’s sustainable development agenda.
This included the company’s role in agriculture and value addition, job creation through entrepreneurship, tax contribution towards the national treasury, responsible alcohol consumption campaigns and above all investments into plant and equipment.
“As a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, our products have a direct link with the public. It is important that we keep communicating with our customers and consumers through the media,” he said.
Sekele also said that the company had in place internal processes to promote safe driving and responsible drinking.
Zambian Breweries is working with schools in curbing underage drinking.
“Zambian Breweries is committed to bringing people together for a better community. The company will continue to do this through active participation in agriculture, entrepreneurship, promoting responsible drinking and finally creating clean and healthy environments,” Sekele said.
