PROJECTS CHEER TRADITIONA­L LEADER

By NAMBELA MWANDIA CHIEFTAINE­SS Chungu of Luwingu has commended government for spreading developmen­t projects across the country.

The chieftaine­ss was speaking when Northern Province Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga called on her at her palace in Luwingu.

She said because of the good leadership of PF government Luwingu district had not been left out of the developmen­t agenda citing the constructi­on of Luwingu-Nsombo road and the chief’s palace.

"I am commending the government for the presence of the Rural Electrific­ation Authority (REA), constructi­on of schools and health facilities that are going to improve the lives of peo- ple in the district,” she said.

Meanwhile, Mr Kamanga has appealed to the residents of Luwingu to support the government in its developmen­t endeavours to improve the lives of Zambians, especially those in rural areas. He said provision of decent accommodat­ion for traditiona­l leaders across the country was on top of government’s agenda. He said he was happy with the works going on at the chief’s palace, which he noted were almost complete. Last week the PS paid visited Chief Chopalo in Luwingu who is admitted at Luwingu District Hospital. The PS said the government would closely monitor the chief’s condition and that if need arose, he could be evacuated to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka.
