MEET BIG BIZZY: a budding music producer

THE success of every Zambian musician is never complete with the mention of a music producer. This is usually a person behind the making and arranging of beats that supplement the artist's lyrical creation.

Zambia has to date seen a number of producers who have played a huge role in building and shaping the industry. Some big producers to date include TK of Romaside, Ben Blazer, Killer Beats, Raydo and JerryD to name only a few.

But competing with these names include some emerging talent. One such talent is Romeo Katonga (Born march 17,1990). Katongo is musically known as Big Bizzy Onit who has branded himself as a fine Zambian Music Record Producer and recording artist based in Lusaka.

Big Bizzy has produced for prominent artistes in a variety of genres, ranging from R&B, Hip Hop to Afro pop and Kwaito.

At an early age, Big Bizzy developed interest in music production. He used to listen to productions by legendary music producers like Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Tk, Justice League, The Business and Chali Bravo.

Raised in a humble family where things were rough as he was brought up by a single parent, (Mother) Katongo paid extra attention to his academic life until

he completed high school at The Kamwala High School This was however coupled with his love for music.

Bizzy grew up around music as his mother used to listen and sing reggae music. He later met a good friend m known as E One after completing high school.

E One motivated hi they formed a rap dual known as Heroes Exposed.

Bizzy also had dream of being a music producer even when he was a rapper. Bizzy and E-one later met T-Sean who is one of Zambia’s greatest music producer and dancehall artiste.

The two formed the group called Baila Empire. After a few years, Bizzy and E-one later met Gee wise and X5 and formed a four-man music group known as Crazy 4.

In 2015 Big Bizzy was signed to K-Amy Studios by Yahya Kaba (Killer beat) as a music producer where he has produced impressive hits by Alpha Romeo, Jay 10, Dj Sony, Ma Africa, Jae Cash, Kan2 and Crazy 4 to name only a few.

Additionally, Big Bizzy has also formed his sub label (Starlight Music) under K-Amy Limited where he has signed Three Talented artists (Karisma, SJeey, J Mafia).

Finally, Big Bizzy has produced and co-produced some of Zambian best albums by Ma Africa-Fresh Start, Alpha Romeo-Nothing Has Changed, Jae Cash-Giovanni, G-Wise-Mr Right Now, Big Bizzy-Mercy and many hits.
