I am duty bound to serve in North West - Mubukwanu
Northwester Provincial Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu By JACKSON MAPAPAYI
I HAVE a duty to ensure that government functions in the province are implemented, newly appointed North Western Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu has said.
Mr. Mubukwanu made the remarks in Solwezi yesterday when he addressed heads of government departments.
‘’This time around, I have a constitutional responsibility to take keen interest in the operations of the councils within the province where I’m serving as minister.
‘’So, I can summon any council chairperson, I can summon any mayor and have them to account for the operations of that council,’’ Mr Mubukwanu said.
He said the development model President Lungu has put in place was that which is inclusive and that it should not leave anyone behind.
He said he expects every civil servant in the province to continually take their responsibilities seriously.
‘’I know in government you do have this casual approach towards work, and it is this casual approach towards work which seriously undermines our collective efforts to improve the lives of the people.
‘’Every time where we are expected to provide leadership, we always come up with lame excuses,’’ he said.
