PF has rigged 2021On elections - UPND
IT is inconsequential to debate on whether or not we will accept the 2021 election results because as far as we are concerned, the Patriotic Front have already rigged the election, says United Party for National Development (UPND) spokesperson Charles Kakoma.
Mr Kakoma said it was unquestionable that the PF had already rigged the 2021 election.
He said the PF government was rigging by instigating political violence and initiating campaigns before the stipulated time.
Mr Kakoma said the UPND was aware of the manoeuvres the PF were employing to rig elections.
“To us, the PF is already rigging the 2021 election, they have started campaigns already and that is rigging. They are busy intimidating our supporters, that is rigging, and soon the PF will start issuing NRCs in its strongholds and claim that government has run out of material when it comes to other parts of the country,” he claimed..
Meanwhile, Zambia Republican party President (ZRP) Wright Musoma said the claims by UPND that government was plotting to rig the 2021 election are a confirmation that the party will continue to use underhand methods and trickery to try and wrestle power from the PF.
Mr Musoma told the Daily Nation that Zambians must realise that the UPND had been trying to use alternative methods to get into government since it lost the 2016 elections. He said that the UPND had lost all hope of winning an election and was currently employing other methods to wrestle power from the PF.
“Since 2016 the UPND have tried to engage the international community, they have tried to incite people to rise against government and they even tried to divide the country by making HH look like he is president of some parts of the country,
“They are still trying, if you listen to them you will hear them saying HH will be president before 2021, how will that happen? What is their plan of getting into office?” Mr. Musoma asked.
He said the UPND had already lost all possibilities of winning an election and was just looking for any loophole to get into government.
Mr Musoma said people should not forget that Mr Hichilema was recently quoted in the media claiming that what transpired in Zimbabwe could be replicated in Zambia.
“Lying and trickery is in HH’s DNA, so people should understand that whatever he does is well planned out. He is good at deception so we need to tread carefully when we are dealing with the UPND,” he said.
Mr Musoma said the UPND had selfish leaders who did not care about the country and could go to extremes just to get into government.
