Win league-Nkwazi challenged

THE Zambia Police command has assured Nkwazi football team that they will be paid their dues in time but must reciprocate by winning the 2018 FAZ Super League.

Deputy Inspector General of police for administration Eugene Sibote, on behalf of the IG Kakoma Kanganja told the technical bench and the players that they would not accept anything less than the title.

Addressing the team at Edwin Imboela Stadium yesterday, Sibote said the command would do its best to ensure the team had all the necessities and were paid dues on time.

“We aware that we owe you one winning bonus from last season, but that will be settled in two weeks’ time. The command wishes to assure you, that this season, all your dues will be paid on time,” he said.

However, he made it clear to the technical bench and the players that the command would not accept anything less than the title.

He said last year’s under-performance must not be repeated this year and no excuses would be accepted.

“The IG said the command was only expecting a league title from you that is not an option but an order. As a team, we expect you to start the season on a winning not, and we have confidence you can do it,”he said.

Sibote pledged to award goal scorers in the opening match of the season K1, 000 each from his pocket.

He said the team must aim to win the first five games which would build their confidence and send shivers to the other opponents.

He advised the foreign based players to be disciplined and help the team achieve the target.

“To the foreign players from Uganda, DR Congo and Ghana, please consider Nkwazi as a stepping stone for you, so be disciplined all the time. I also urge all of you to invest wisely and not in memories,” he said.

Coach Albert Mphande assured the command of a better performance.

“This is a big challenge, the command is very clear on us winning the title and I have the ammunition to deliver,” he said.
