You are a rat, Shakas tells Kambwili

WE can never be scared of political novices like Chishimba Kambwili who has been muscling his luck and popularity using our party name and has refused to back off because he knows that allowing a by-election in Roan constituency would spell doom for him, Lusaka Province PF Information and Publicity Secretary Christopher Shakafuswa has charged.

Mr. Kambwili was yesterday quoted as saying the PF was damn scared like rats because of the NDC’s popularity that it had blocked all its meetings and further accused Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja of being drunk with unknown power.

But Mr. Shakafuswa reacted angrily to what he termed as insults from Mr. Kambwili whom he described as a parasitical individual who had continued drawing allowances from parliament using the PF seat which he had refused to let go of.

He said if Mr. Kambwili had shame, he would not have continued attacking the PF which had made him who he was adding that the ruling party was not in the business of issuing permits or giving permission to any political party to have meetings.

He said the police were professional enough to know who should be given a go-ahead to hold meetings or who should not, depending on the prevailing security situation at the time

“So, who is damn scared like a rat between him who rushed to court to challenge his expulsion or us who were more than ready to go for a by-election in his constituency?

Mr. Kambwili must not be too excited with his NDC because those people are just a bunch of novices who are riding on the PF’s popularity. I want to challenge Mr. Kambwili to withdraw the court case so that we can separate boys from men in politics.

“The duty to allow or not to allow a political party to hold any meeting lies solely in the hands of the police and to accuse us of blocking his meetings simply shows how economical he is with the law and truth.

If the police cannot allow him to hold meetings because of his supporters’ truancy, that is his problem and not the PF’s and so, he should stop demonising us over things we have no control over,” Mr. Shakafuswa said.
