Stop over-dependency on government, youths told

-

By MAILESI BANDA KABWE central Member of Parliament, Tutwa Ngulube has appealed to youths to be self-dependent and create jobs for themselves.

The Kabwe law maker said depending on the government to create jobs is a misplaced decision adding that the government should only complement the efforts the youths are making.

Mr. Ngulube said this in his good will message to the youths of Kabwe on the commemorations of youth day which fell yesterday.

“My message for youths of Kabwe and the nation at large is that we must begin to think outside the box. We should not wait for the government to provide employment in order for us to earn an income,” he said.

He stated that it is wrong for the youths to wait for the government to give them loans when they can create capital for investment into a small business by doing small jobs.

He lamented that most youths have access to knowledge and technology through their employers adding that it is unfortunate that most of them failed to get the knowledge and grow their own businesses.

Mr. Ngulube said youths should not be so much dependent on government as doing so will make led them to failure.

“As you work use the knowledge you acquire to sustain your life you by coming up with small business like card making which will bring in the extra income,” he said.

He said youths should know that they cannot remain employed forever.
