Tax women donate to vulnerable children
OUR 2018 Corporate Social Responsibly also focuses on uplifting the lives of vulnerable people in society, says Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner for Finance, Brigitte Muyenga
Speaking in Lusaka yesterday after women from ZRA donated goods worth K33, 000 to Chainda Catholic Special School as part of International Woman’s Day celebrations, Ms Muyenga said ZRA recognised children with special needs who were coming from disadvantaged communities like Chainda.
Ms Muyenga said the donation was in line with ZRA’s 2018 Corporate Social Responsibly focus on uplifting the lives of vulnerable people in society.
She said the institution endeavoured to show love, care and compassion to disadvantaged groups in both rural and urban areas which was in line with this year’s theme: Time is now: Rural and Urban activities transforming Women’s lives.
Ms Muyenga observed that the school had 20 pupils with special needs in need of physiotherapy services.
“We were touched the first time we learnt about this school and therefore we have decided to make this donation to enable you achieve your dream of having a physiotherapy room at the school. “This donation we are making today is in line with our 2018 Corporate Social Responsibility which is uplifting the vulnerable people in society such as physically challenged, the aged, the sick and among many and the donation comprise three fowler beds, and a 15 metre by 3.5 metres floor carpet worth K30,650.
And Assistant Parish Priest Father John Akagwu thanked ZRA women for the gesture and urged them to continue helping vulnerable people.
