I’m not campaigning, says Sampa
FORMER Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa has dispelled rumours that he is campaigning for the vacant Chilanga constituency seat on the NDC ticket following the declaration by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Patrick Matibini.
Mr Sampa said there was no truth to the rumour that has been generated by those bent on maligning his image in the ruling party.
He said that he was a bona fide PF member who has no intentions of changing camp to join another political party, and that he was not even campaigning as being suggested by the rumour.
“I am PF, and available for any duty assigned by the party leadership. “Everybody knows I am PF. I am not campaigning and if I have to stand anywhere, I will be guided by the party leadership,” he said.
He said maybe somebody might have been seen him around Chilanga, but it was not for politics, but for his piece of land located in the district.
He wondered how anybody could link him to the opposition NDC, and what they were trying to prove by accusing him of campaigning, more so under the opposition party.
Mr Sampa, who was a deputy minister in the Michael Sata administration recently recon-ciled with the ruling party after a quiet stint to recover following the mayhem that charac-terised the ruling party after the death of Mr Sata.
He questioned the motives of those telling lies about his links to NDC.
“How does NDC come in? What connections do I have with them? I have a small hold-ing in the area which is why anybody could have seen me around Chilanga. I am not campaigning,” he said.
