TWO CHIEFS OFFER LAND TO NEW APOSTOLIC CHURCH

- By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

TWO traditional leaders in Chavuma have offered over 19 hectares of land to the New Apostolic Church for the construction of a health facility and a youth skills training centre.

Headmen Mungole and Kakanga said traditional leaders were eager to participate in development activities that enhance the life of people in the area.

The duo said this during an event at the New Apostolic Church aimed at raising funds for the development of the acquired land.

And speaking at the same occasion, acting Chavuma District Commissioner Douglas Samukange said government was pleased to see traditional leaders participating in national development.

Mr Samukange added that government appreciated plans by the New Apostolic Church in Chavuma to put up a skills training centre and other infrastructure at the acquired land saying the vision of the church would make a difference in the district which has no institution of higher learning.

He also said that the New Apostolic Church was not only winning souls to Christ but participated in finding practical solutions to challenges people were facing.

Mr Samukange assured the church leadership that government would provide support needed to execute the plans the church had put in place.

Meanwhile, New Apostolic Church District Apostle for Kabompo, Zambezi and Chavuma, Richard Kasoma said the support received from various stakeholders and church members during the fundraising event was strength enough for the church to forge ahead with the earmarked projects. Apostle Kasoma said the church will continue planning to develop the acquired land as a way of appreciating God for consecrating Chavuma with boundless natural resources.
