Opposition wish Kambwili quick recovery

- By NATION REPORTER

OPPOSITION political parties have wished NDC consultant Chishimba Kambwili, who is reportedly in South Africa to seek treatment a quick recovery and to come back home soon and answer to his matters.

Mr Kambwili failed to show up at the Woodlands Police Station last week where the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) had summoned him after earlier searching his house in Lusaka’s Kabulonga area.

In an earlier interview on Saturday, NDC spokesperson had told the Daily Nation that Mr Kambwili had been unwell for some time and is now believed to be in South Africa to seek treatment.

The Lusaka magistrate’s court has however warned Mr Kambwili to appear in court or face a bench warrant while the state complained that it had evidence of witness interference by the accused.

Opposition leaders have since wished the Roan Member of Parliament a quick recovery so that he could answer to his matters.

Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) leader Wright Musoma and Enock Tonga of the 3rd Liberation Movement (3rd LM) said in separate interviews that Mr Kambwili should come back quickly and face the law.

Mr Tonga said Mr Kambwili should get well soon as several matters of concern were awaiting.

“We just read in the paper that Mr Kambwili had travelled to South Africa to seek treatment. We wish him a quick recovery, he needs to come back home as soon as possible so that he can answer to his matters. We know that ACC is waiting for him and he has court cases,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Musoma also wished the NDC consultant a quick recovery.

Two weeks ago, Mr Kambwili stormed out of an ACC interrogation citing his diabetic condition as the major reason as he could not stay for a long time without food.

He had complained that the ACC had kept him for too long despite his condition.
