BEST WESTERN PLUS JOINS ‘LAUGHTER IN THE CITY WITH KANSIIME’
By TERENCE MISELO ZAMBIA'S outstanding women of strong character and influence in different fields are yet again set to be celebrated through the forthcoming Push Women Awards set to take place on May 4th at the Hotel InterContinental in Lusaka.
These unique and inaugural awards will run under the theme, ' Celebrating women that defy the odds.'
The Push Women Awards are open to all extraordinary women that have held to their call to duty in different sectors. For this reason categories have been laid to show how the women will be appreciated and awarded. Amongst the listed categories include outstanding women in business and finance, manufacturing, sports, agriculture, construction and arts and entertainment to mention only a few.
And musician Wacheda has welcomed the Push Awards and thanked the organisers for including Entertainment and Arts which she feels plays a major role especially that it is a male dominated sector. By TERENCE MISELO LUSAKA'S Best Western Plus Hotel has joined hands with Papa Sylvee and Bizzy Wizzy Entertainments to host the show 'Laughter in the City' featuring Uganda's female comic Anne Kansiime and Zambia's Mkushi Accents aka Tilowa, this April.
Announcing the partnership, Papa Sylvee Entertainments chief executive officer Sylvester Chishiba said the countdown to the country's anticipated biggest comedy show which takes place on April 27th at Mulungushi International Conference Centre is on and has attracted corporate support.
"We are happy Best Western Plus has come on board through their corporate responsibility window. We believe Anne Kansiime is a big role model to the arts particularly comedy and their support will surely enable her fans have this chance to mingle with her and also help local comedians learn something from her," he said, emphasizing that Best Western Plus will sponsor Kansiime's accommodation during her stay in Zambia.
And Kansiime arrives in the country by April 25th in readiness for her show.
BShe is also expected to have special meetings and interactions with the local female entertainers , the media and selected charitable institutions.
