BEST WESTERN PLUS JOINS ‘LAUGHTER IN THE CITY WITH KANSIIME’

By TERENCE MISELO ZAMBIA'S outstandin­g women of strong character and influence in different fields are yet again set to be celebrated through the forthcomin­g Push Women Awards set to take place on May 4th at the Hotel InterConti­nental in Lusaka.

These unique and inaugural awards will run under the theme, ' Celebratin­g women that defy the odds.'

The Push Women Awards are open to all extraordin­ary women that have held to their call to duty in different sectors. For this reason categories have been laid to show how the women will be appreciate­d and awarded. Amongst the listed categories include outstandin­g women in business and finance, manufactur­ing, sports, agricultur­e, constructi­on and arts and entertainm­ent to mention only a few.

And musician Wacheda has welcomed the Push Awards and thanked the organisers for including Entertainm­ent and Arts which she feels plays a major role especially that it is a male dominated sector. By TERENCE MISELO LUSAKA'S Best Western Plus Hotel has joined hands with Papa Sylvee and Bizzy Wizzy Entertainm­ents to host the show 'Laughter in the City' featuring Uganda's female comic Anne Kansiime and Zambia's Mkushi Accents aka Tilowa, this April.

Announcing the partnershi­p, Papa Sylvee Entertainm­ents chief executive officer Sylvester Chishiba said the countdown to the country's anticipate­d biggest comedy show which takes place on April 27th at Mulungushi Internatio­nal Conference Centre is on and has attracted corporate support.

"We are happy Best Western Plus has come on board through their corporate responsibi­lity window. We believe Anne Kansiime is a big role model to the arts particular­ly comedy and their support will surely enable her fans have this chance to mingle with her and also help local comedians learn something from her," he said, emphasizin­g that Best Western Plus will sponsor Kansiime's accommodat­ion during her stay in Zambia.

And Kansiime arrives in the country by April 25th in readiness for her show.

BShe is also expected to have special meetings and interactio­ns with the local female entertaine­rs , the media and selected charitable institutio­ns.
