Our campaign is clean, N/west PF

- By NATION REPORTER

THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Northwestern Province says it will conduct peaceful campaign in the forthcoming local government by-elections in four wards in the region.

The polls will take place in Kasempa’s Kanongo ward, Kalilele in Mushindamo, Mudanyama in Mwinilunga, and Mushima in Mufumbwe districts.

PF provincial chairperson Jackson Kungo said the ruling party would engage in issue based campaign and concentrate on explaining its manifesto to the people.

In an interview, Mr. Kungo said unlike other disgruntled political parties such as the opposition 8nited 3arty for 1ational 'evelopment 831' , which was bent on character assassination, the ruling party would not condone negative issues.

+e said though the 831' boasted of popularity in the region, the PF had made inroads.

“Ours is issue based campaign and not the politics of character assassination and malice our colleagues are known for and believe in,” Mr. Kungo said.

+e said since the 831' had nothing to tell the electorate, they had waged war against the PF by spreading lies against the ruling party.

“Although they are doing that, we as the party in power have demonstrated truthfulness and commitment by spreading development to all parts of Zambia, including 1orthwestern province. That is what is speaking for us,” Mr. Kungo said.

+e said though the 831' were busy promoting politics of hate and division in the country, the PF would always preach peace and unity because that was Zambia’s foundation.

0r. .ungo was confident that the ruling party would scoop all the four local government seats in the by-elections scheduled for April 24, 2018.
