WEED OUT TRAITORS IN PF -CHILESHE

-

Front (PF) Secretary General Davies Mwila should ensure that traitors still pledging allegiance to embattled Roan lawmaker Chishimba Kambwili are weeded out of the ruling party, says party founder member Mubanga Chileshe.

Mr. Chileshe said there was need for an overhaul introspection of the entire party structure to establish which members were loyal.

He said while in opposition the party had a system to establish which members were loyal or not to the party but observed that the PF has become ‘too comfortable’ and that each time he offered advice it seemed to fall on deaf ears.

In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Chileshe said the PF did not know which of its members were still with Mr Kambwili or not stating that this is because the party has concentrated much of its energy on outside opponents such as UPND and other opposition.

“I would like to appeal to my elder brother Mr. Chama to ensure traitors and those still loyal to Mr. Kambwili are rooted out of the party. “Right now the party structure does not seem to know which people are with Mr. Kambwili or not,” he said.

Mr. Chileshe said there was need for members to have easy access and given audience with President Edgar Lungu who is the party president.

He observed that Mr. Kamb- wili was still an influential figure and that he should not be under rated. Mr. Chileshe expressed worry that if such mechanisms were not put in place then the PF would have a tough time in the 2021 elections.

He said the impeachment motion before Parliament should not be downplayed as MPs such as Mr. Kambwili and former Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba seemed to be working on their own political parties and had influence on other M3s in the House.

Mr. Chileshe also said the formation of the Socialist Party which has adopted former Post Newspapers (in liquidation) proprietor Fred M’membe as its aspiring candidate for 2021 should equally be taken seriously.
