Chililabombwe PF youths chide Mulongoti

- By NATION REPORTER

THE level of pettiness exhibited by some opposition leaders in the country is very alarming, says Chililabombwe Patriotic Front (PF) Youth Chairperson, Paul Kabuswe.

Speaking in a telephone interview, he singled out the debate over the President Edgar Lungu`s nationality which he said was meant to divert people`s attention from real issues.

Mr Kabuswe said it was irrational for People`s Party leader Mike Mulongoti to start questioning President Lungu`s nationality when has stood for Presidency twice and also Chawama as Member of Parliament.

“As a country we should concentrate on serious issues that affect and concern the well-being of our people such as economic activities that will improve their lives as well as giving constructive advice to the Republican President on real issues,” he said.

And PF members in Luanshya have castigated Mr Mulongoti for questioning President Lungu`s origin.

PF Luanshya chairman Lewis Kamaloni said the allegations by Mr Mulongoti were baseless and deserved no attention.

He accused Mr Mulongoti of being a bitter and visionless politician.

Meanwhile Mr. Kabuswe, who is also Chililabombwe former Mayor, said there was need for the nation to seek a home-grown interparty dialogue

He said when Zambia faced a transition from the one party state to a multi-party democracy, the country never sought outside intervention.

He said there was no need therefore for the country to be supervised by the Commonwealth in the dialogue process.

Mr Kabuswe instead urged the clergy in the country to take a lead in the national dialogue.
