Hold convention, DNA challages HH

- By NATION REPORTER

WE challenge UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to go to a convention and allow other party members to contest the party presidency if he is a democrat, says Zambian DNA Spokesperson Spuki Mulemwa

In a statement made available to the Daily Nation Mr Mulemwa accused Mr Hichilema of exhibiting antagonistic attitude towards those who did not agree with him or his party on anything. Mr Mulemwa said since Mr Hichilema took over as leader of UPND in 2006, the party had not gone to any convention, yet he accused other parties which go to conventions of being undemocratic.

Mr Mulemwa said Mr Hichilema had of late exhibited disrespect to the Head of State, Speaker of the National Assembly and recently the UNDP Country Rep Janet Rogan whom he has accused of being a PF cadre.

“The question we want to ask the nation is: if Hichilema behaves like this today when he is not in power, how would he behave if he had the instruments of power at his disposal, “he wondered.

Mr Mulemwa said there was no doubt in many people's minds that if Mr Hichilema ever got the chance to rule this country, he would run it as personal to holder, the way he ran the UPND where he is the alpha and omega.

He cautioned Zambians to be careful who they trusted with state power, as it was observed that some of the opposition leaders like Mr Hichilema had no regard for other people.

“A good leader accepts to be led and puts the interests of the people before self as President Lungu has demonstrated to the nation,” he said.
